Tempel 1's Place in the Solar System
Most people are familiar with the picture of the Solar System consisting of concentric rings representing the orbits of the planets with the Sun in the middle. Where does Tempel 1's orbit fit into this scheme? Take a look at Gregorio Drayer's graphics showing the orbit of Tempel 1 as viewed from out near Pluto's orbit and from the asteroid belt.

Can you manipulate the slider bars of the applet to get similar views as Gregario's graphics? Then come back to Earth and check out the charts for finding Tempel 1 in the night sky for the next several months.
